Talk:Paul Gauguin catalogue raisonné, Wildenstein 1964

Hallo, gerne möchte ich beitragen, um die Chronologie der Werke von Paul Gauguin voran zu bringen. Das Wildenstein-Institut tut sich schwer mit der Überarbeitung des zweiten Bandes. Einige Gemälde wurden in den ersten Band eingebracht, somit verschoben sich die Nummerierungen. Mir sind auch Gemälde bekannt, die in die Bände mit einfließen müssten. Wer ist in der Lage, diese Infos umzusetzen? Scans kann ich beifügen, hier aber nur ein Bild von 1892: "Landschaft mit blauen Bäumen", Privatbesitz, Christies 2012... Ohne Ansicht, ich bekomme das mit Word nicht eingefügt und aus dem Internet nicht kopiert. Das erwähnte Bild kam mir heute auf den Schirm. Meine Anfragen gehen auf ein Buch zurück (Georges Boudaille), wo einige Bilder nicht bei Wildenstein auftauchen. Paysage aux troncs bleus, 1892

This gallery lists the works published by Georges Wildenstein in 1964. This catalog is still the main reference for pictures by Gauguin from 1889. The Wildenstein Institute has announced the inclusion of new works in a forthcoming catalog. Once published you can create a new gallery page with the new reference number. Georges Boudaille

Hallo, ich möchte gerne folgende Bilder zur Diskussion stellen, die ich nicht bei Wildenstein fand. Einige Zeichnungen sind auch dabei, aber vor allem Gemälde. Es geht um das Buch "Gauguin" von Geotges Boudaille. Die Bilder hochladen ist wohl zu kompliziert, Lizenz usw.... Gibt mir bitte jemand einen Tipp? Das Buch liegt mir vor und die Scans sind auch fertig. Es geht um folgende:

The two Wildenstein catalogs list paintings. For watercolors, prints, monotypes and drawnings there are other catalogs raisonnés. From your list can identify:

Hallo, in der Villa Julia in Pont-Aven gibt es Wandgemälde von Paul Gauguin. Eines heisst "Stillleben" (Nature Morte "Lefort des ylouses") von 1887. Dieses müsste auch im Wildenstein erscheinen... Aus der Republik Yemen kommt folgende Briefmarke: "Zwei Bretonische Kinder am Meer", gemalt 1889, hängt in Tokio im National Museum of Western Art. Ich fand es in Büchern wieder, aber nicht bei Wildenstein...

This work is listed in Wildenstein 1964 with reference number W.345 and titled Fillettes au Pouldu. I have only found a low quality black and white image in a book, none online. It is in a private collection at Switzerland. --V.Riullop (talk) 16:00, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

Les Roches noires or Les Rochers noirs is not listed in Wildenstein because it is not a painting but a watercolor drawing. Probably it is referenced in the catalogs of John Rewald or Ronald Pickvance. --V.Riullop (talk) 10:46, 21 December 2018 (UTC)

This work is not listed in Wildenstein. Christie’s states: "This work will be included in the new catalogue critique of Paul Gauguin’s works being prepared by the Wildenstein Institute." Fazit / Conclusion

Zunächst V.Riullop vielen Dank für die schnellen Hinweise. Es ist in der Tat schwierig, manche Details im Internet zu finden, die schon in Büchern nicht zu finden sind. Ich musste feststellen, dass der Wildenstein im Buch und Online Lücken enthält. Meine Hoffnung war, dass diese Lücken zu meinen Anfragen passen.

Warum ist nicht Lückenlos im Buch alles abgebildet? Welche Experten können da noch helfen? Sind Historiker des Instituts Wildenstein kontaktierbar oder melden sich bitte?

First thank you V.Riullop for the quick hints. It is indeed difficult to find some details on the internet that are not found in books. I found out that the Wildenstein contains gaps in the book and online. My hope was that these gaps fit my requests.

Why is not everything in the book fully represented? Which experts can help? Are historians of the Wildenstein Institute contactable or please contact me?

Some years ago I tried to complete this gallery. For the missing numbers with no image there are different cases:

• Lost or whereabouts unknown.
• Missidentified by Georges Wildenstein, currently known as a duplicate of another work or attributed to another artist.
• Hard to identify.
• Hard to find an image of some private collections.

This painting is supposed to be Paysage avec la femme bretonne Deux sold in 1891 at Hôtel Drouot, Paris, but there is not much evidence and it is not listed in Wildenstein 1964 nor Wildenstein 2001. --V.Riullop (talk) 07:05, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
