Z[edit]
- This diagram as used in the English Wikipedia article for pair production is confusing. I do not know what "Z" is supposed to refer to, as there should not be any Z bosons involved in simple electromagnetic pair production. I would suggest removing the Z's and using as a Feynman diagram instead: wavy rightward arrow for a photon boson to an electron and a positron. Nicole Sharp (talk) 16:57, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- I think I might have got it now. "Z" is referring to Z, the charge on an atomic nucleus. I still think the notation is confusing though, since a Z in Feynman or Feynman-like diagrams like this usually refers to a Z boson. It should probably be relabeled as just "nucleus."
