3d rotable objects for examples[edit]

It'd improve the article a great deal to replace the images by 3d objects — Preceding unsigned comment added by Backinstadiums (talk • contribs) 15:40, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request to colour circles differently[edit]

Moved from en:user_talk:cmglee#Improvements:

@Cmglee: I do not understand why the three circles are the same color. how about using the six different colors (3 primary (red, yellow, blue), 3 secondary (orange, green & purple)) as well as the resulting ones? Alternatively, a linguistic/semantic example would enhance the graphic and make it more easy to grasp --Backinstadiums (talk) 11:41 pm, Yesterday (UTC+1)
That seems reasonable, though it will mean having to modify other files of that series to match (commons:Category:Blank_Venn_diagrams). I'd suggest first asking for feedback on its talk page, and pinging its creator, Roomsixhu for a second opinion. Cheers, cmɢʟee⎆τaʟκ 5:18 am, Today (UTC+1)

Does anyone here have an opinion on this? cmɢʟee ⋅τaʟκ 13:14, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The three circles are not colored because all of the color interactions between themselves and/or with the other shapes would probably be distracting and confusing... AnonMoos (talk) 08:21, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@AnonMoos: the intersection of a set with itself doubly is what really renders the example useless. Therefore, instead I'd use the color palette mixtures as they teach it in universities or/and a verbal example --Backinstadiums (talk) 09:46, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what that means -- each of the six individual shapes is closed and non-self-intersecting (i.e. topologically equivalent to a circle). Giving the three circles each an individual color would result in an overall diagram that was a riotous chaos of chromaticity, but I strongly doubt whether any additional clarity would result.
