"Ice cream for everyone" is a worthy goal. Our technological society should strive to make low-cost and high-quality ice cream (including gelato, frozen custard, sorbet, etc.) available to all of humanity across the globe, while maintaining the delicate balance that makes "Spaceship Earth" our beautiful and bountiful home.

The effort is non-trivial -- consider the refrigeration required to freeze and then preserve ice cream in places with no or intermittent electricity, and consider the logistics of offering a selection of flavors and ice cream variations (e.g., dairy & non-dairy versions).

Will the free market make this happen? Consider the economics of a viable business model for micro-businesses in small, remote villages. Should governments intervene? Would wide-spread ice cream availability increase the average happiness of the world? Would it prevent wars? Or would it disrupt local diets causing health issues? Discuss.
