Hello. The majority of images I upload to the Commons are geology-related images, and most of these are digital camera images. My first camera was a very old Polaroid point-and-shoot that was one of the first affordable digital cameras on the market. I later replaced this with a used Nikon that had a marvelously flat field and a wonderful deep zoom. Unfortunately, this camera was just a bit fragile and eventually its autofocus failed,and I now use an Olympus TG-5 chosen precisely because it is sturdy. Alas, the sturdy construction meant sacrificing the deep zoom. Life is full of trade offs.

If you would like an image of anything in the western United States, leave a message on my talk page. I can't promise anything but it is nice to have an excuse to travel somewhere off my usual beat to take a photograph.

I generally place images I upload to Wikimedia in the public domain. I want them to have the widest possible use, though I do appreciate being given photo credit when you use my images.
