Restoredprints is the WikiCommons name for RestoredPrints.com, a private enterprise that specialises in the digitization and restoration of rare, antique, natural history illustrations from the 18th and early 19th Centuries; either simply to remove obtrusive time-related damage or to restore them to their original condition as initially published. Images from British Entomology (John Curtis), British Birds (Henry Leonard Meyer) and English Botany (James Sowerby) are directly digitized from the originals at a resolution of at least 2,400 ppi., (approx. 6,000 x 10,250 pixels - c.60Mb), unsharpened. Birds of America (John Audubon) and others are at resolutions of at least 600 ppi.
