Michael A. Roosevelt (b. 1948, Philadelphia) is a Vermont-based artist and printmaker known for engravings on copper, lithographs and relief prints on a variety of subjects. He demonstrated an early interest in fine art and in the mid-1960s went to Paris and began study with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17. He received a BFA degree from Carnegie-Mellon University while returning to Atelier 17 on a regular basis until 1984. In the early 1980s he received an MFA from the Tyler School of Art – Temple University.

His work ranges from large engravings on copper to lithographs and relief prints (both wood engravings and linoleum cuts). Initially the majority of his work was in black and white however recently he has made a quantity of color relief prints. His subjects cover a broad range with an emphasis on figures and landscapes.
