In the Notre-Dame des Doms basilica in Avignon, Lodovico Piantanida, installed an organ in 1820 on a gallery at the bottom of the nave. It was when it was moved to the choir in 1837, suspended in corbelling on the north wall, that the current organcase was made by Branet and gilded by Biat. The organ was restored for the first time by Alain Sals in 1967 and by Enrico Mascioni in 2004. It is a valuable witness to Lodovico Piantanida's Italian craftsmanship.
