CZ: Jan Sonnevend (* 25. prosince 1880 Topolany, okres Vyškov - 4. září 1942 Praha - Kobyliská střelnice) byl za protektorátu v Praze předsedou starších české pravoslavné církve. Po zapojení se do nekomunistického protiněmeckého odboje sehrál významnou roli jako aktivní pomocník parašutistů. Byl jedním z iniciátorů jejich ukrytí v kryptě kostela v Resslově ulici. Skutečnost, že jsou v kryptě kostela ukrývání parašutisté sdělil biskupu Gorazdovi až v den vyhlazení Lidic (večer 11. června 1942). Po prozrazení úkrytu parašutistů (18. června 1942) byl Jan Sonnevend spolu se svojí manželkou Marií Sonnevendovou zatčen 22. června 1942 a 4. září 1942 na Kobyliské střelnici v Praze popraven zastřelením. Marie Sonnevendová byla popravena 24. října 1942 v KT Mauthausen.

EN: Jan Sonnevend (* 25 December 1880 Topolany, Vyškov district - 4 September 1942 Prague - Kobyliska shooting range) was the chairman of the elders of the Czech Orthodox Church in Prague during the Protectorate. After joining the non-Communist anti-German resistance, he played an important role as an active helper of the paratroopers. He was one of the initiators of their hiding in the crypt of the church in Resslova Street. The fact that the paratroopers were hiding in the crypt of the church was communicated to Bishop Gorazd only on the day of the extermination of Lidice (the evening of 11 June 1942). After revealing the hiding place of the paratroopers (18 June 1942), Jan Sonnevend was arrested together with his wife Maria Sonnevend on 22 June 1942 and executed by shooting on 4 September 1942 at the Kobyliska shooting range in Prague. Marie Sonnevendová was executed on 24 October 1942 in the Mauthausen concentration camp.
