Čeština: Vlastimil Blahák (* 30. ledna 1905 Tvarožná u Brna – 21. března 1979 Praha) po maturitě v roce 1924 na reálce v Brně absolvoval Vojenskou akademii v Hranicích na Moravě, kterou zakončil v roce 1925 jako poručík ženijního vojska. Od roku 1928 studoval na Českém vysokém učení technickém (ČVUT) v Praze, kde v roce 1932 získal titul zeměměřičského inženýra a v roce 1936 obhájil titul doktora technických věd. Následovala vojenská studia na Vysoké válečné škole v Praze (od podzimu 1936) a v roce 1937 v Paříži na L´Ecole militaire. V roce 1938 působil na generálním štábu v Praze v hodnosti štábního kapitána. Po rozpuštění prvorepublikové armády – za Protektorátu Čechy a Morava – se zapojil do protiněmeckého odporu ve vojenských odbojových organizacích v okolí Prahy. Byl zástupcem velitele skupiny „Praha-západ“ a byl též zapojen v organizacích „Obrana národa“ a „Věrný pes“. Po zatčení 28. října 1941 byl vězněn na pražském Pankráci, v Drážďanech a v Berlíně, kde jej Němci 30. listopadu 1942 odsoudili k trestu smrti. Při převozu mezi nacistickými vězeními se mu v nastalém zmatku během leteckého náletu podařilo uprchnout. Až do konce druhé světové války se skrýval nedaleko Prahy, aby se od 2. května 1945 zapojil do organizace pražského květnového povstání. V letech 1948 až 1951 byl velitelem Vojenského zeměpisného ústavu v Praze. Současně byl profesorem na Vysoké škole vojenské a docentem na Českém vysokém učení technickém v Praze. Penzionován byl v roce 1952, od roku 1953 působil jako profesor a vedoucí katedry geodézie a kartograﬁe na Vysoké škole dopravní v Žilině. Zemřel 21. března 1979 v Praze.

After graduating in 1924 from the real school in Brno, he graduated from the Military Academy in Hranice na Moravě, which he finished in 1925 as a lieutenant of the engineer army. From 1928 he studied at the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) in Prague, where in 1932 he received the degree of surveying engineer and in 1936 he defended the degree of doctor of technical sciences. This was followed by military studies at the Military College in Prague (from autumn 1936) and in 1937 in Paris at L'Ecole militaire. In 1938 he served at the General Staff in Prague with the rank of staff captain. After the dissolution of the First Republican Army - during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia - he joined the anti-German resistance in military resistance organisations in the vicinity of Prague. He was deputy commander of the "Prague-West" group and was also involved in the "Defence of the Nation" and "Faithful Dog" organizations. After his arrest on 28 October 1941, he was imprisoned in Pankrác in Prague, Dresden and Berlin, where the Germans sentenced him to death on 30 November 1942. While being transferred between Nazi prisons, he managed to escape in the confusion during an air raid. He hid near Prague until the end of the Second World War, only to join the organisation of the Prague May Uprising on 2 May 1945. From 1948 to 1951 he was the commander of the Military Geographical Institute in Prague. At the same time he was a professor at the Military University and an associate professor at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He was retired in 1952 and from 1953 he was a professor and head of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography at the University of Transport in Žilina. He died on 21 March 1979 in Prague.
