World War II in Africa from Flickr user gbaku[edit]

  • The most difficult or time-consuming part of this upload is to get in touch with him and inquire about the copyright status. The key question is whether the photographer of the "mostly uncaptioned" photoalbum is a member of his family. If sufficient evidence that he is the copyright holder exists, the verified details should be sent to the OTRS.

Opinions[edit]

I contacted the user about the photos and here is the his answer:
"I don't know if I have the rights to the WWII photos. I bought them from a reputable book seller from whom I have bought books for decades. I don't know if the rights go from the seller to the dealer to me, but you probably do."--Diaa abdelmoneim (talk) 23:34, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for doing so. I think this is not sufficient evidence that the files are free. So let us not upload them. These files might be good candidates for a nonfree media time capsule, though. Teofilo (talk) 10:23, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
