Danaus chrysippus, male
  •  Info “Male danaines have a number of secondary sexual characteristics. In the case of the Plain Tiger, these are: The male has a pouch on the hindwing. This spot is white with a thick black border and bulges slightly. It is a cluster of specialised scent scales called androconia, used to attract females. The males possess two brush-like organs which can be pushed out of the tip of the abdomen. He dips his brush into the pheromone reservoir and flicks it into the air; this hopefully encourages an amorous response in the female.” Created, uploaded, and nominated by -- Jkadavoor (talk) 08:21, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support I think this is a rare and valuable picture showing the exposed brush-like organ. -- Jkadavoor (talk) 08:21, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
