Location precision information loss by Upload Wizard

Per this upload it seems the upload wizard is truncating trailing decimal zeros from the Longitude (and I assume also Latitude ) boxes from the Location section (which is normally collapse by default). In this case a latitude of degrees was altered from -0.990 to -99. While numerically these are the same value then use of -9.990 is an indicate trouble has been taken to indicate care has been taken to indicate the co-ordinate has been given to 3dp whereas 2dp indicates it has been given to two. There was no issue with the {{Object location}} parameters which were entered into the free format Other information box. As the rendered Summary display on the uploaded page is in DMS (Degree, Minute Second) co-ordinates it is not obvious that this truncation manipulation has occurred. I am minded the decimal places to co-originates to {{Location}} affects the precision taken by bots such as SchlurcherBot where the diff has apparently applied a precision of 0.001, the prec= meters uncertainty to {{Location}} if given will be ignored by the bots. (Digression) The obviously point is the bot has determined a precision in that diff from a choice of 2 or 3 decimal places on the point of view co-ordinate ... and I am not sure of the algorithm but the degrees of precision probably ought to relate to lesser given but that is a complex matter. It may be argued a problem might only occur when trailing zeros were truncated from both latitude and longitude co-ordinates. Its also interesting that inspecting the structured data for the file does not show the precision, but entering the edit mode would allow an alternate location and precision to be entered if I am not mistaken. The key point is I believe it is inappropriate for the Upload Wizard to remove trailing zeros from supplied co-ordinates and this should be rectified. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 10:04, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
I agree that the values as entered may carry information, and I don't think the "wizard" has any way to deem that truncation is appropriate in a specific case, so yes, it should leave them alone (unless they violate syntax restrictions). Unfortunately it seems that the developers have lost interest in this page years ago, see the talk page (section "Does anyone even look at this page anymore?"). A "phabricator" request might put this forward. –LPfi (talk) 12:06, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

One problem is that, as I understand it, those giving feedback through the interface directing them here are never told where that feedback goes, so they don't see the disclaimer or our replies. In this case however, as the poster succeeded in replying to themselves, they probably also see our replies. –LPfi (talk) 15:52, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
@Pigsonthewing, LPfi Thanks for replies, I'll analyze them in due course. As some of you may or may not know I'm indef banned on English Wikipedia and don't want to get into a battleground here or create a Phabriactor because of that, also because prepping for a trip that intersects with my ban, and that's giving me a time crunch at the moment. It's probably right I report the truncation concern ... but I'm not bringing it forward. I can actually put the {{Location}} call in the Other information box which works round the issue for me if I want to add location information to any future images I upload. Looking at this stuff is really a winter job. But thatnks again for help. If anyone can raise a Phabricator that would be great. Thanks. 18:31, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

Photo Lisence

Hey, I would like to know if we can upload an image that was previously taken from the free resources? I'm confused. Also, please have a look at the logo on my website https://www.worldfindings.com/ and let me know if that is ok to upload here? Thank you

@World.findings: Hi, This is the wrong place for copyright related questions. They should be posted on the Village Pump about Copyright. Thanks, Yann (talk) 07:46, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
