Reason | Reviewers will notice the only other image of this bird species, File:Geotrygon montana -NBII Image Gallery-a00201.jpg, which is quite good and perhaps even taken in the wild? The nominated photo is a zoo shot, but I actually think it is the most illustrative of the species as is also evident if one does a Google search for images of this species. Albeit it is a zoo shot, the environment appeared very realistic, as the zoo is embedded in a rain forest, where the bird is native. The background is evidently well suited for camuflage. The bird is self-identified using a locally borrewed book covering birds in the Antilles, and it had no plumages resembling the alternative photo, whereas this appeared close to a typical male plumage text book example. I have been wondering if it could benefit from a slight crop for taxobox purposes? -- Slaunger (talk) |
