May, 2016[edit]

Do national park photos already on Wikimedia qualify - or are they ineligible? Thanks. Figaro (talk) 11:03, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Non-protected areas[edit]

Great project. I just wanted to say there are many areas in Australia that ought to be protected, but aren't. Publicising them is one way of changing that. Worth considering for next time? (I have some good pics from non-protected public land.)--Russell E (talk) 03:37, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah we know there are places which arent protected that should be others that are but are being bulldozed for housing, canal projects, mining and roadways, this isnt just an issue in Australia but one thats a world wide issue. The limit on protected areas is because that how this program works internationally and we want our successful entrants to eligible for the international prizes. Seeing how successful this is Wikimedia Australia will certainly be looking into other options. If you have ideas you'd like run you are welcome approach WMAu for help in getting it off the ground email contact@wikimedia,org,au who knows maybe you could start a world wide event as well. You can also upload those photos anyway as you dont need to wait for a competition to contribute. Gnangarra 05:10, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Search for an international jury[edit]

Hello!

We are searching for members of the international jury of Wiki Loves Earth. Do you know someone who would be suitable for that and have time in July and August? Please write us at wle-team@wikimedia.org.ua if you have such a person.

Best regards on behalf of the international team, --Lord Bumbury (talk) 20:24, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
