English: 'Sir Sidney Smith. Imprisoned in the Abbaye Paris on the 23rd April 1796. Transferred from thence to the Tower of the Temple on the 3rd July 1796' Text in English below image. An oil painting either by Hennequin or based on this print is on loan and hanging in the Old Royal Naval College and is probably a residual Greenwich Hospital picture, though not in the 1922 Painted Hall catalogue. PvdM 6/05 |
