Description
中文（臺灣）：昭和5年(1930)10月霧社事件後，促成「裏南投道路」(今中潭公路前身)的開通，埔里對外的交通，逐漸由公路運輸取代「埔里輕鐵線」。這張彩色明信片影像，約是昭和6年(1931)左右烏牛欄吊橋的舊風景，吊橋上正有一輛自動車行駛過橋，橋下有一條輕便鐵道跨過南烘溪，這條輕便車鐵道約於大正初年間施設，是自大肚城製糖會社出發，沿今中山路三段、四段到崎下，然後在崎下轉彎下到南烘溪鋪設柴橋過溪，通往蜈蜞坑、桃米坑大坪搬運甘蔗的輕便鐵道。烏牛欄吊橋已於民國50年代初改建成水泥橋並改稱為愛蘭橋，長久以來是埔里人返鄉必經的要道，為旅外遊子思念埔里故鄉的鄉情之橋。 圖：感謝國家圖書館提供。
