English: Greek Pvt. Niko Tzaikapakhe gives a lecture on top of “Hill 107” describing the battle of Maleme to Marines with Combat Logistic Battalion 22 and Golf Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, both with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, during a Greek bilateral exercise in Maleme, Crete, June 6. Elements of CLB 22, the BLT and force reconnaissance platoon participated in the training with the Greek military in Crete. The Marines and sailors of the 22nd MEU are currently deployed with Amphibious Squadron 6 aboard the USS Bataan Amphibious Ready Group serving as a flexible, formidable and potent force who continues to train and improve their capability to operate as a cohesive and effective Marine Air Ground Task Force. The 22nd MEU is a multi-mission, capable force comprised of an Aviation Combat Element, Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced); a Logistics Combat Element, CLB 22; a Ground Combat Element, BLT, 2nd Bat. 2nd Mar., Reg.; and its Command Element. |
