Summary[edit]

Description
English: PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii -- Japan Air Attaché Colonel Yoshinori Ozaki pauses for a moment of reflection at the U.S.S. Arizona memorial here which honors those who lost their lives during the 1941 attacks by Japan on the United States. Thirty-seven Air Attachés and their spouses - 78 people total from 32 countries - visited Hawaii during a Chief of Staff-directed annual tour Oct. 4-10. These Attachés, who are representatives of international air forces at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, get distinguished treatment in the Pacific and Europe during these visits to the theaters of operations for the U.S. Air Force. It is important for the U.S. Air Force to demonstrate its ability to fly, fight and win as well as extend hospitality to allied military forces. While here, the Attachés also visited Pacific Command, Pacific Air Forces, and Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command and laid a wreath at the U.S.S. Arizona memorial.
