Deutsch: Das Karmel St. Josef der Unbeschuhten Karmelitinnen in Mayerling, eine Ortschaft in der niederösterreichischen Gemeinde Alland.
Ursprünglich war es ein Stiftshof des Zisterzienserstiftes Heiligenkreuz aus dem 12. Jahrhundert. Um 1886/87 erwarb Kronprinz Rudolf den Baukomplex und baute ihn zu einem Jagdschloss um. Am 30. Jän. 1889 verübte er dort mit seiner Geliebten Freiin Mary Vetsera Selbstmord. Noch im selben Jahr erfolgte im Auftrag von Kaiser Franz Josef und nach Plänen des Hof- und Oberbaurats Heinrich Schemfil als Architekt sowie Josef Schmalzhofer als Baumeister ein Umbau zu einem Kloster statt, wobei an der Stelle des kronprinzlichen Schlafgemachs im Südosten des Schlosses (Ort der Tragödie) die Klosterkirche errichtet wurde. Am 15. Dezember 1889 erfolge die Übergabe an die Unbeschuhten Karmelitinnen. Unter dem Motto „Rettet den Karmel Mayerling“ erfolgte ab 2014 bis 2017 eine umfangreiche Sanierung um rund 1,6 Mio. Euro. Unter anderem wurde dabei auch ein Besucherzentrum errichtet und die Museumsräume neu gestaltet: [1]. English: Carmelite Convent Mayerling, Lower Austria.
