Summary[edit]

Description Former President Bill Clinton speaks during the 17th annual Salute to Freedom Dinner aboard the newly refurbished Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86 in Manhattan, N.Y., Nov. 6, 2008. Attendees received a sneak preview of the museum's updated and expanded exhibits, which open to the public Nov. 8, 2008. Nearly 1,500 Sailors and Marines from USS Bataan (LHD 5) are visiting New York for a week of community outreach events, daily tours, participation in the city's annual Veterans Day Parade and support for the grand reopening of the museum.
