Description

KZ Mittelbau-Dora, Produktion von V 1

ADN-ZB/Repro/23.1.85/Bez. Erfurt: Gedenken an Antifaschisten/ In unterirdischen Stollen des faschistischen Konzentrationslagers "Mittelbau Dora" bei Nordhausen hatte das Rüstungsunternehmen Mittelwerk GmbH einen Rüstungskomplex errichtet. Unter Ausbeutung von KZ-Häftlingen wurden hier Raketen gebaut (V 1 und V 2). Durch gezielte Sabotage der Widerstandsorganisation, zu der auch der am 23.1.45 im KZ ermordete Antifaschist Albert Kuntz gehörte, war etwa ein Drittel der Raketen, die den Krieg für Hitler entscheiden sollten, unbrauchbar. Das Foto zeigt einen der Montagestollen für V-Waffen (Reproduktion einer Aufnahme von 1945).

English: Nordhausen, the Mittelwerk in the Hartz (sic) Mountains, was captured by the United States Third Armoured Division in April 1945 (sic). Found there were many V-1s such as these and also stored V-2s[1]
