Details of architecture can be seen with the round bump carved stoneguards, the carved staircase, the half-circle threshold, 5 pilars and the ruins if of a round wall. The pavement on the ground is made of big stones. Some trees in the background. English transcr.: International Campaign for the Safeguarding of sites and monuments in the "Cultural Triangle". At the request of the Sri Lankan Government, UNESCO is taking part in a five-year programme to restore and protect the principal sites and monuments within a zone marked out by the ancient cultural capitals of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy. Entrance to Vatadage, the rotunda stupa house, with, on each side, the "stoneguards". (12th A.D.). French transcr.: Campagne internationale pour la sauvegarde des sites et monuments du "Triangle Culturel". à la demande du Gouvernement du Sri Lanka, l'UNESCO participe à un programme de cinq ans destiné à restaurer et à assurer la protection des principaux sites et monuments à l'intérieur d'une zone délimitée par les anciennes capitales culturelles d'Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa et Kandy.
