Notes
  • Significance: Building No. 636-A is situated within the boundaries of the Pensacola Naval Air Station Historic District, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has also been designated as a National Historic Landmark. The one-story facility was built in 1940 as a pumphouse for Building No. 636 and was later converted to an electrical substation. Building No. 636-A is one of a number of buildings constructed from 1937 to 1940 to support the expansion of NAS Pensacola's aviation training program. Building No. 636-A indirectly contributed to the installation's mission by providing necessary support for normal day-to-day operations. Building No. 636-A is one of many buildings at the station that sustained damage by Hurricane Ivan in September 2004.
