Description
日本語: 現在の東門。臺南市は臺灣最古の首府として三百年間の歷史を有し，殊に南部平原の中央に位し，古來政治的にも亦產業的にも唯一の都市として發達したので，城市の規模宏北を極め家屋の稠密店舗の繁華全島に冠たるものであつたが，領臺以後其繁華は政治的中心を臺北に奪はれ，商貨の集散を高雄に奪はれた爲めに，昔時の比では無いが尚ほ城內到る處に歷史的建造物も少くないので，其遊觀に一日を費すことは充分である。領臺の後市區改正を行ひ街衢整然として一層面目を改めた。赤崁樓、開元寺、媽祖廟、文廟、五妃廟、開山神社、臺南神社、關帝廟、彌陀寺、夢蝶園等の史蹟名勝がある。二圖共に東門ではあるが上圖の現在を下圖の當時と此處に比べて見た。（尾崎秀真）
