Summary[edit]

Description
English: Live images of hooded seal alveolar macrophages in vitro . BAL cells were cultured in Ibidi µ-dishes for 7 days prior to the experiment. After initial calibration in a Nikon Bio Station, the cells were incubated with medium containing 2 µm green fluorescent latex beads (0.05% v/v). Pictures were obtained as stated in M & M and the cells were observed for a total of 6 h. In video 1 an area of 10 cells is included using 20X magnification. Cell migration as well as protrusion of both fan-shaped and slender, spiky pseudopods are visualized.
