Description
English: A Japan Ground Self-Defense Force officer with the Western Army Infantry Regiment (WAIR) briefs his soldiers during their acclimation to the USS Somerset (LPD 25) at Naval Base San Diego, Feb. 18, 2016, during Exercise Iron Fist 2016. The WAIR is a battalion-sized light infantry regiment that specializes in amphibious operations. The WAIR is a part of the Western Army, which is one of the five armies of the JGSDF.
