English: GIS Advanced Teletext Receiver (bottom).TheAdvanced Teletext Receiver was made by GIS (General Information Systems Ltd) with co-operation from the BBC. It has a socket on the right hand side for the TV ariel, plugs into the BBC Micro's user port and takes its power from the BBC Micro's auxillary power socket. Internally it has a Philips MAB 8031 8 bit processor with 8K EPROM and 8K RAM. It uses the Philips SAA5235 and SAA5250 to process the Teletext signal.
The Advanced Teletext Receiver was launched in 1988, it supports Ceefax and Oracle and works with the BBC model B & B+ and the Master. It comes with the BBC's Advanced Teletext System plus software ROM. |
