Questa immagine ritrae un amante del barone svedese Carl von Platen (1863-1929), che fu portato a Taormina (nella primavera del 1898) dove fu fotografato da Gloeden. Questa e altre foto di Gloeden della stessa serie sono discusse in: Göran Söderström, "Carl von Platen". In: Fredrick Silverstolpe et all, Sympatiens hemlighetsfulla makt - Stockholms homosexuella 1860-1960, Stockholmia förlag, Stoccolma 1999, pp. 332-356. Secondo tale saggio, Lundgren aveva 16 anni. Platen sarebbe stato di lì a poco arrestato e internato in manicomio (in quanto "invertito") proprio per le foto di giovani nudi e seminudi che la polizia avrebbe trovato a casa sua.

This image portrays a lover of Swedish baron Carl von Platen (1863-1929), who brought him to Taromina where he posed for Gloeden. This and other photos by Gloeden with the same model are discussed in: Göran Söderström, "Carl von Platen". In: Fredrick Silverstolpe et all, Sympatiens hemlighetsfulla makt - Stockholms homosexuella 1860-1960, Stockholmia förlag, Stoccolma 1999, pp. 332-356. According with that paper, Lundgren was 16. Plateen was to be arrested a few years later and sent to an asylum (as an "invert") when the police found photos of naked and half-naked youths in his house.
