Notes
  • Significance: Hillsboro (Cedarvale) is significant in relation to the life and achievements of Dr. G. William Barry, the first individual to recognize and exploit the recreational potential of Bighorn Canyon. Several of his business adventures included gold mining, horse ranching, and manufacturing. The only business pursued was the ranching, and for a number of years he raised and marketed English Hackneys. His dude ranch, Cedarvale, was the first to be established in the area, and from that base Barry pioneered in the development of recreational boating on the Bighorn River.
  • Survey number: HABS MT-43
