Afrikaans: Die Upsala-gletser in Argentinië is hier deur 'n Expedition One-bemanningslid aan boord van die Internasionale Ruimtestasie (ISS) gefotografeer. Dit is die derde grootste gletser van die Suidelike Patagoniese Ysveld met 'n geskatte oppervlakte van meer as 800 vierkante kilometer. Hierdie lang, noord-suid georiënteerde rivier van ys eindig in die noordelike arm van Argentino-meer. Dieselde area is net meer as 3 jaar later tydens die agtste ekspedisie van die Internasionale Ruimtestasie afgeneem; verwysingsfoto nr. ISS008-E-11807 onder die Expedition 8-afdeling van die Human Space Flight-webwerf.
English: The Upsala Glacier in Argentina was featured in this image photographed by an Expedition One crewmember onboard the International Space Station (ISS). This is the third largest glacier of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field with an estimated area of over 800 square kilometers. This long, north-south oriented river of ice terminates in the northern arm of Lake Argentino. This same area was photographed during the eighth expedition of the International Space Station just over 3 years later; reference photo no. ISS008-E-11807 under the Expedition 8 section of the Human Space Flight website. |
