Følgende opplysninger om bildet er utarbeidet av Arkivverket ved Samisk arkiv i 2020, på norsk bokmål og nordsamisk:
Melkingsplass ved Márkos-Malla: Motivet viser reinflokk og mennesker sydøst på fjellet Márkos-Malla, omtrent 8 kilometer fra Treriksrøysa (Norge-Sverige-Finland). Bildet er tatt om høsten. Tidligere var det vanlig å melke reinen. Melken kunne lagres over lengre tid ved å tilsette syregras. På melkeplasser, slakteplasser og andre områder hvor reinen ble samlet på et lite område finner man en egen artsrikdom i floraen. Gjødsling og nedtramping over tid ga opphav til næringskrevende og frodig vegetasjon.

There is no data on who was the photographer of each individual image in this collection. However, there are some indication that most photos were taken by Jens Holmboe (Q937626). The other members of the commission were Johan Rosberg (Q11865411), Eric von Sydow, Lorenz Smith, Sam Mårtensson and Väinö Tanner (Q3427281). The images in the collection are in the public domain in Norway in accordance with the Norwegian Åndsverkloven § 23.
