Benjamin Miller and Senior Chief Boatswain’s Mate Herb Kresge, both assigned to U.S. Naval War College (NWC) in Newport, R.I., wait for personnel to arrive at Naval Station Newport marina in preparation of getting underway onboard NWC command cutter. The NWC command cutter was built by the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in February 1957, is 50 feet in length with a beam of 13.5 feet, and is made of oak with double-planked Alaskan cedar sides and teak decks.
