Description Construit en 1884 sur le modèle de celui de Vienne dans un style néo-Renaissance italienne, avec marbre et dorures, l'Opéra de Budapest a été dirigé pendant 4 ans par Gustav Mahler. Il se trouve sur l'avenue Andrássy, voie royale de la bourgeoisie typique du XIXème siècle, classée au Patrimoine de l'Unesco. L'avenue s'étire sur presque 3 km de long jusqu'au bois de la ville, en traversant le quartier des ambassades. Certaines cours sont parfois accessibles, révélant des cages d'escalier superbement rénovées ou autrefois somptueuses et ravagées par le temps.
