Notes
  • Significance: This portal provided an exit for cars bringing coal from Sublet Mine No. 6. // Constructed of cut stone and concrete, with stair-stepped wings on each side, the portal entrance is an arch that bears the words "No. 6 1913." The mine entrance is sealed about twenty feet into the portal. Vandals have chipped the letters. Constructed in 1913 as an integral part of the Sublet Mine No. 6, built, operated and owned by Kemmerer Coal Company.
