Notes
  • Significance: Designed for a husband and wife who were both architects, the house was an interesting amalgam of styles and periods. The open, asymmetrical plan, steel windows, and interior detailing are strongly modern while the red brick walls, brick cornice, and slate roof are rooted in traditional Virginia architecture.
  • Survey number: HABS VA-1084
  • Building/structure dates: 1939 Initial Construction
  • Building/structure dates: 1983 Demolished
