Description
English: Dynamic motility of E. coli biofilm. This movie shows the dynamic motility of E. coli biofilm “spread sheet” grown in vitro on 50 nm thick ns-TiO2 films. The sample was incubated for 3 days and examined in situ in real time by confocal microscopy. The movie shows sections from top to bottom through the sheet. In the movie the motile clusters of cells into the surrounding medium can be seen. Viable E.coli cells are stained red with SYTO® 17 Red.
