Description
Français : Exemple de représentation graphique ( en "rose des vents") des variations de force moyenne des vents selon leur orientation et direction, ici à Boulogne-sur-Mer, ville portuaire du détroit du Pas-de-Calais.
Les vents dominants et les vents les plus forts se superposent globalement aux courants et à la direction (résultante) du déplacement de la masse d'eau de la Manche vers la Mer du Nord. Ces vents (vent dominants forts venant du Sud-Ouest) quand ils vont dans le même sens que l'onde de marée montante peuvent causer des "surcotes" de marée haute.
