  • Scope and content: This narrative report of farm forestry accomplishments in California and Nevada, which comprised the Pacific Southwest Region (also known as Region Ten), is profusely illustrated with captioned photographs. Also included is one appendix, a transcribed newspaper editorial on brush burning in California. The report discusses environmental issues such as woodland plantings on farms to conserve soil and moisture and to promote wildlife habitat, gully treatment techniques, mistreatment of land by repeated controlled burning designed to improve feed, creation of productive farm woodland, and markets for farm forest timber products.
