Notes
  • Significance: Built in 1833, it contained ballroom and dining room, but little of the original interior trim now remains. Used as hotel until ca. 1926. Sold to state in 1941 as tuberculosis sanitarium, which closed in 1943. It finally became a guest home for old people in 1945, was improved in 1947, renovated in 1949, and had a rear wing added in the 1950's. In the early 1970's, the building was extended to the southeast and a fourth portico was constructed. In the Beyer print of Sweet Springs a twin to this building is depicted directly opposite, on the other side of the Bath House, but contrary to the plans of the spa's developers, it was never constructed.
