Compiled by Prévost. Work continued by Anne-Gabriel Meusnier de Querlon (1702–1780), Alexandre Deleyre (1726–1797) and Jacques-Philibert Rousselot de Surgy (b. 1737), with subsequent additions by J.P.J. Du Bois and others.
Tomes 1–7 are translated from John Green's "A new general collection of voyages and travels".
Tome 16, compiled by Étienne M[aurice/arie?] Chompré (1701–1784), has title "Table alphabetique des matieres contenues dans les xv. volumes".
Tome 17 is "Suite de l'histoire générale des voyages".
Tomes 18–20 have title "Continuation de l'histoire générale des voyages".
Imprints vary: t. 15–16: Paris : Chez la veuve Didot; t. 17: A Amsterdam : Chez Arkstée et Merkus; t. 18: Paris : Chez Rozet; v. 19: Paris : Chez Panckoucke.
