Deutsch: Der Krebsnebel, auch bekannt als Messier1, ist der Überrest einer Supernoca, die im Jahr 1954 im Sternbild Stier beobachtet wurde. In seinem Zentrum befindet sich ein Neutronenstern. Der Nebel ist von Filamenten ausionisiertem Wasserstoff und Helum durchzogen, mit Anteilen von Staub und schwereren Elementen. Entfernung von der Erde: 6300 Lichtjahre
English: The Crab Nebula, also known as Messier1, is the remains of a supernova observed in the constellation of Taurus in 1054 AD. A neutron star lies at its core. The nebula is crisscrossed by filaments of ionised hydrogen and helium with traces of dust an heavier elements. Distance: 6300 ly.
