Description
English: Title: The Kremlin gate, with its Tartar architecture and religious chapel adjoining, Russia--Moscow
Comment: A bizarre collection of incompetent statements in one phrase. This isn't Kremlin, but the Ilyinka Gate of the Kitai-gorod fortress wall. The architecture is certainly not Tartar. The basic fortress structure was built by an Italian architect along earlier Italian motives. The tented roof is a generic mid-17th century Russian design, completely unrelated to Islamic Tartar canon.
