Summary[edit]

Description
English: U.S. Embassy staff and their families gather around a static display of an MV-22 Osprey from Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron 22 on flight deck of the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) during a tour in Valparaiso, Chile, Aug. 24, 2014. The tour consisted of multiple static displays showcasing the capabilities that the Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South bring to the ship. America moored in Valparaiso for a scheduled port visit to conduct key leader engagements with distinguished visitors, give tours and host an evening reception emphasizing the imperative of partnership and cooperation between the U.S. naval forces and Chile. SPMAGTF-South is currently embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, “America Visits the Americas.” (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Donald Holbert/ Released)
