English: The 1887 bronze equestrian monument to Victor Emmanuel II in Venice, modelled by Ettore Ferrari (1848-1929), stands on the Riva degli Schiavoni, not far from Palazzo Ducale. The detail shows a curious fence made with crossed weapons, a relief composed of patriottic symbols, beside the Shield of Rome. Picture by Giovanni Dall'Orto, August 12, 2007.
