Date?[edit]

I think there is a mistake on this date, and it should be "(AH)" rather than "AD" - according to a converter program I used [1], this would translate to c. 1418-68 AD (or CE). I can't seem to change the file, so I'm just noting it here; thanks! Isocephaly (talk) 19:00, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

   He's right. 205.142.197.91 (talk) 22:49, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where is Altin Orda city? Timurlane got that place also, and also India and Ottoman Empire

The date on this map is not correct - it shows the extent of the Timurid empire around 1400 AD. I don't know how to make that change. To the previous editor; Timur seems to have treated Anatolia and northern India and territory of modern Kazakhstanas raiding grounds without formally making them part of his empire. See for example these maps http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/3817/2rs9.jpg http://bss.sfsu.edu/behrooz/Map-tamerlane1400.gif http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9e/Timur_Empire.jpg Robert St. Algau (talk) 23:13, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The date must be in the Islamic Calendar which is complicated. It should read AH, not AD. I can't make out exactly what Gregorian year it corresponds to but it is in the 15th century. According to this converter it's 1418-1468 AD. --Jmullaly (talk) 11:29, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The date on this file is misleading. The map is correct, but the date is an Islamic calendar date and thus, should be labeled (AH), as in anno Hegirae, not (AD), as in anno domine. I believe the convention in the English language is to write both dates like this: 821/1419 - 873/1461 This has caused confusion: see discussion for this file in wiki commons, and discussion at wikipedia: Timur. Could an administrator please change the file name?Mloafness (talk) 21:45, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done I've moved the file. Magog the Ogre (talk) 07:35, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
