Talk:Inventory Louvre
Nice initiative! What is the purpose of the "room number" column? Also, perhaps we'd like to create subpages for each department. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 07:44, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've based this page on Inventory Glyptothek Munich. I used the numbering of the objects in a room of Atlas the online catalogue of the Louvre. It's just a way to sort the different works of art in a room. It might indeed be a good idea to create subpages for each department. Evil berry 08:45, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- The Atlas database sorts by alphabetical order of the title when the objects are free-standing; by case number then alhabetical order of the title when the objects stand in glass cases. I don't think we should focus on this, as the Atlas database isn't complete. We'd better sort out by entry number (we should be separated, in my opinion, from ordinary numbers — MaXXX). - Perhaps the "Room Nr"-column can be replaced by an "Entry Nr"-column and the "Accession Nr"-column by a "Ordinary Nr"-column. I would suggest we make the tables sortable. Evil berry 18:50, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. See Inventory_Louvre#Room_28 for illustration.
- Holy cow! I didn't know we could sort tables this way. Your example is great; this is just what I had in mind. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 20:06, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, this list is not up to date at all; it does not include any element of room 29 for instance, while there is a whole category about them. The problem is that it is not easy to help, as it requires a detailed plan of the Louvre. --Stéphane Magnenat (talk) 22:20, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- Nope, the list doesn't even come close to completion. We all use the Atlas database to sort out material. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 16:59, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi I added some pics of the roman sections... unfortunately I have something like 500 more pics to upload, so I don't have time to update galleries too, but if you wish to check I put them all in the correct categories. By the way Agrippa bust is on display again, I saw it, I will check which room then move it. --Sailko (talk) 14:38, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
