[edit] Coat of Arms of the Federation of South Arabia
Thanks for making an svg version of the Coat of Arms of the Federation of South Arabia. There are, however two important corrections to be made:
- The Jambiya shold be in natural colors and the end of its sheath should be a bit smaller. You can check "Category:Jambiyas", although there are not many there.
- The stars in the flags below should be inside the crescent, not between the tips.
Thank you again. User:Xufanc

- Yes, thank you for the quick correction. What do you think of a paler yellow in the stripes of the flag to make its colors more contrasting?User:Xufanc
- Personally, I don't think that is necessary. Feel free to change it yourself if you disagree. It's a PD image, after all! Regards, --Inductiveload (talk) 08:33, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding an Error
It is only a simple labeling mistake, I believe. There is no transistor M3, although I do see M5's evil twin brother. However, I'd still appreciate its correction whenever you find yourself idle; it caused me a great deal of confusion for a moment when trying to grasp the principle of SRAM. Seeing as I find your work quite articulate, I thought I would take the liberty of complimenting you on some other prominent graphics while I had a chance; the quantum wave function diagrams look particularly intricate.

- Sorry about that - making silly mistakes is my forté it seems. Thanks for the compliment, and the heads up - it's nice to know someone is looking closely at things! Inductiveload (talk) 05:50, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello Inductiveload!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.
To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.
- [[Category:Category Name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:
- [[Category:Astronomy diagrams]]
- [[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.
For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.
The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.
Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.

[edit] About deletion requests File:WikipediaOfflineIcon32.gif
Hi Inductiveload, I already state my vote and my point of view about the deletion, please go to Commons:Deletion requests/File:WikipediaOfflineIcon32.gif. Oh yeah, if you want to know more about the history why I need a deletion process to that image, so let me know, and I will tell it to you in this talk page. Okay? Ivan Akira (talk) 10:28, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I read the NfD page, changed my stance to a vote-delete. Best, Inductiveload (talk) 12:37, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Neurologists from Poland

[edit] 555 Astable diagram
Nice work on the "555 Astable diagram.svg"! There is a small error, though: in the astable mode the THRESHOLD pin (6) should be connected to the TRIGGER pin (2), not to the DISCHARGE pin (7).
- Well that was a dumb mistake. Thanks for pointing it out. Inductiveload (talk) 16:42, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
[edit] A proposal...
Hey there! I saw your icons and nearly photorealistic vectors of electronics components.
I'm working on a little project which may become a wikibook, but even if it doesn't this would still be a valuable contribution to the Wikipedia project and the Commons.
I basically am looking for an expanded pool of electronic parts, basic discrete components, in your style, coloured much like this and this ...
I have a bunch of stuff that I know I'll be needing for the project, but I won't put it out yet because it's a) a bit imposing and b) this will take time, and unless you're in Sydney and thus can partake of delicious baked confections, I won't be able to really compensate you...
This is a challenge, though. If you're interested, let me know, and I'll get a list to you! Your skills are ... seriously the best I've seen on the Commons at doing these fidgety components. I'd be honoured if you'd have a look over my request.
Thanks kindly, → Horst.Burkhardt (talk) 12:58, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds interesting. I also want to create a large collection of electornic parts, but there are so many and without a decent roadmap, it's quite despiriting! So I would be happy to help you. Please bear in mind that I have IRL commitments too, so I can't give any concrete promises about deliveries and stuff. However, don't let this prevent you from asking!
- I've made a subpage for you to list what you want.
- Hope to hear from you soon, Inductiveload (talk) 16:01, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
-
- Ok, subpage markup tidied and a list of stuff that I'm looking for is listed! Thanks very much for considering my proposal! :D

[edit] Software used to create tilings
Hi. Could yo describe the software you used to create your Penrose tiling images? Thanks. SharkD (talk) 00:49, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, I used Inkscape, a vector-graphics editor which works on Windows, Linux and Mac. If you carefully consider the rotations and snap to the nodes precisely enough, the pieces just snap into place. Inkscape has a way of rotating by an exact angle, and it has a tool to create exact polygons. It is easiest in my experience to begin with the regular polygons and build up the pieces from there.
- Remember, all my images of Penrose Tilings are public domain, so you can copy and paste elements out of my drawings. Attribution would be nice, but is not required. Alternatively, post any requests here and I will get round to them ASAP. Inductiveload (talk) 20:45, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] hi i would love to get in contact with you so i can ask you some questions about your art
hi so i'm into DIY electronics and i'm trying to make a tutorial. i found your electronic components and i love them do you have any tutorials for making these parts? please let me know can you send me your email address? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Versuviusx (talk • contribs) 15:10, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, the diagrams of the electronic components are drawn in SolidEdge (a 3D modelling and technical drawing program). I'm afraid this is commercial software, and I'm not aware of an equivalent free version. The objects are made into technical drawings, printed to PDF and then edited with Inkscape and/or Illustrator.
- If you want any specific parts to be made, you can tell me and I'll do them at some point. I'm already helping another Commons user with a similar request. (see this page). You can also freely modify and redistribute any file I have uploaded if you want. Attribution is nice but not required.
- I'd prefer to keep discussions on Commons if you don't mind, as it helps me keep it all together. Emails just get confusing and fill up my inbox too quickly. We can always set up a subpage like I did with Horst.
- And please sign comments! Otherwise I have to go and hunt around the history for who is talking to me! Thanks!

| Pay attention to copyright | The Wikimedia Commons does not accept fair use content, because fair use laws vary from country to country - thus, content deemed acceptable under, for instance, US fair use concepts (which are very broad) is not usable in the majority of other countries.
Also, fair use depends on the context the image (or other media) is used in. That is, something that can be used on one page as fair use would be a copyright violation on another page. Especially, fair use does not allow collecting and distributing the images in a media database such as the Commons. This means that fair use simply does not apply to the Commons. You are, however, welcome to submit such images to your local Wiki, if it allows fair use.
