 Info Cerithium vulgatum, the Common Cerith, is a species which lives at the Western Coast of Europe and West Africa, and in the Mediterranean. Fossil shells from the Pliocene of Italy (about 4 Mio. years ago) are considered to belong to the same species. This is a representative of the fossil - Pliocene - form.
