English: Abū-Yūsuf Ya’qūb ibn Ishāq al-Kindī (c. 801–873CE) (Arabic: أبو يوسف يعقوب ابن إسحاق الكندي), also known by the Latinised version of his name Alkindus to the Western world, was a Muslim Iraqi scientist, mathematician, physician, and a talented musician.
